My Background


I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). I trained personally with Dr. Patrick Carnes, author of the landmark book on sexual addiction, Out of the Shadows, and Dr. Stefanie Carnes, author of Mending a Shattered Heart for partners of those caught in sexual addiction.

Psychotherapy: I have been a licensed psychotherapist for over 35 years. During my tenure in San Benito County I wrote a weekly column on parenting and relationships for the Hollister Free Lance. I maintained a large private practice. I was also on the staff as a clinical psychotherapist for San Benito County Mental Health and Family Resource Center of Salinas.

Education: I am an award winning educator at the state level.

I have consulted at hundreds of IEP’s.

LGBT: I work closely with the Diversity Center of Santa Cruz. I have facilitated support groups for bisexual and gay men.


Human Sexuality: I have extensive training in human sexuality from venues other than IITAP.

Social Thinking: I have also completed recent training in Social Thinking with Michelle Garcia Winner to help individuals with Asperger’s/Autism Spectrum issues.


I am married and have a blended family of seven adult children and four grandchildren.


Meditation is an anchor in my day. I am guided by the basic eternal truths found in the great religions, spiritual practices and philosophies.

I continue to evolve as a highly sensitive person through communication with my mentors.
